The 3 Alarm Adventure race will start – finish at McDonald Park off No. 3 Road in Abbotsford.
- Check in Registration 8am
- Team Captains Meeting 8:30am
- Race Start Time 9am
Teams of racers will travel (run-walk-bike-paddle) through 3 seperate loops. While on each loop teams will be involved in various activities to locate course control points. The bike-paddle loop will involve mt biking on a flat gravel/road portion. The paddle portion is approximately 40 minutes one way and teams should aim to have at least 2 experienced paddlers on their crew. The running portion will take approximately xx minutes both ways. The challenge portion will be mostly around or near McDonald Park. Teams will need to take on various firefighter challenges and mystery events to successfully complete the race. Friends and fans at McDonald Park will be able to cheer on teams throughout the race as they complete each loop. Parking will be limited so please car pool wherever possible.
THIS IS NOT A RELAY RACE: All team members travel the course together. In the competitive division all team members must complete every aspect of the course together.
What gear is needed for the race?
The gear requirements are relatively low. Besides general race clothing to face whatever weather presents itself on race day, teams are required to provide their own mountain bikes, bike helmets and 1 compass per team. Each team is also required to carry a cell phone for emergency contact purposes. Teams will need to be self-sufficient on the course (no outside assistance) but can refuel and re-water at Mcdonald Park as necessary. Western Canoeing & Kayaking will be supplying ALL canoes, paddles and pfd’s for the paddling leg
BIKE CHECKS ARE NO LONGER MANDATORY- but we recommend you do get your bikes checked out before the race. Are your brakes pads good, is your chain lubed, tires properly inflated?? Safety, safety, safety.
